In light of the continuous improvement of our department, reflected in the numerous research projects undertaken, in the high quality publications achieved by its members and in the successful recruitment, I am pleased to present to you the 15th volume of the bimonthly newsletter of the department

EVENTS

  • 17-19 June: the DSE will host the 25th Spring of Young Economists 2021 organized online: Sara Lazzaroni (chair), Enrico CantoniElias Carroni, Valentina Colombo (Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore), Emanuele Forlani (University of Pavia), Giorgio Gulino (Pompeu Fabra University), Natalia Montinari, Paolo Roberti (Free University of Bozen), Alessandro Sforza and Tommaso Sonno are part of the Local Organising Committee. There will be 200 presentations and participants from more than 20 countries.
  • 8 May: Mauro Carboni, Emanuela Randon and Tomaso Giupponi (Unibo-DSG) participated in the multidisciplinary seminar entitled Storie del Debito Pubblico: il Debito Sovrano dal Medioevo all’Unione Europea organized by the Department of Legal Studies (DSG), in collaboration with DSE. Andrea Mondini and Giangiacomo D’Angelo (Unibo-DSG) moderated the seminar.

PRIZES AND AWARDS

  • Giuseppe Cavaliere has been appointed as member of the National Scientific Qualification Commettee (Abilitazione Scientifica Nazionale, ASN) 2018 for the sector (“settore concorsuale”) 13/A5 Econometrics.
  • Emilio Calvano has been appointed as a faculty member at EIEF

  • Emanuela Randon has been appointed as a member of the Advisory Board for the research project on the gambling sector carried out by LUISS Business School and Ipsos within the observatory on regulated markets.  

  • Anna Montini and Emanuela Randon have been appointed as members of the technical committee for the group “Tourism Plastic Free-ER” organized by the Emilia-Romagna region.

PARTICIPATION IN EXTERNAL EVENTS

15 May: Giorgio Negroni interviewed Prof. Joseph Stiglitz on the topic “Global inequality in an ever-changing world” as part of the 2021 edition of the Hikma Summit of International Relations (link to the interview).
